Laura Moon Theory Ruined

After listening to you read my letter a few more things to say.

I have seen Episode 7 and that pretty much ruins my Laura theory. Entertainment weekly did an interview with the show runners and the actor who played vulcan discussing their intentions about the episode.

I wanted to comment on Shadow’s reaction to Vulcan’s decapitation. This is the way I saw it not only did Shadow see a guy get killed, he also saw somebody that he is beginning to trust and has some degree of power over him kill a person in cold blood. I also think there is a significant difference between watching somebody get killed in front of you and seeing a dead person (Shadow doesn’t have a background in violent crime). I think you guys are thinking in terms of TV logic and not real person logic.

I also want to address some background stuff going on with Shadow as a character. I know more than one person with scitzophrenia and a lot of the things that Shadow is experiencing are things that would make me suspect that I was at least scitzotypal.Things like seeing the blood on chernoborg’s hammer would be very easy to explain away to oneself as a hullucination. Hullucinations can be real for the person experiencing them, it is through context that one can know whether one is hallucinating or not. In the case of the Hammer although Wednesday is in the scene, it is an interaction between two characters and Shadow asking Wednesday if he sees the blood is a difficult thing to do with Chernoborg in the room. When we get to floating Marilyn we have a situation where both Shadow and Wednesday are interacting with the same character at the same time, This is a situation where it is much harder to believe that one is simply hallucinating and worth asking Wednesday.

Incidentally, one of my favorite things about the series Vikings is that the supernatural elements at least as far into the series as i have watched are all things that could be interpreted from the world view of the characters (the gods talk to people), or from a modern world view (as a number of the characters being prone to hallucinations).
