Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Dear Shat Hosts:

As usual, love the deep dive. You asked for tin foil hat theories so …

Assuming that the transference of human consciousness into a host to attain immortality is a thing for a second, wouldn’t the Westworld motto of Live without limits take on a whole new meaning? No longer will it mean you can do what you want with hosts without suffering consequences, it will also mean you can cheat death.

Who is Grace? Everyone is wondering whether Grace is MIB’s daughter, Theresa’s daughter, a corporate spy, younger Theresa, and why not Logan’s daughter? All of those theories are plausible but wouldn’t it be great if Grace is Theresa as a host? Her interactions with Bernard would provide the DNA and the host recordings necessary to remake her into a host. If Delos’ initiative is to sell immortality in the form of a host, as a senior staff member, Theresa would probably get a resleeving as part of her employee benefits. Giggles. Better yet, a remorseful Bernard could resleeve her, feeling guilty for killing her in the first place. Darkly, Ford could resleeve her to use her as a host in The Raj just to torture her. When Journey Into Night begins, Grace remembers that she is Theresa. If you were her, what would you do? You have just been murdered by Ford using your host lover. Well, the first thing you’d want is revenge. You can’t kill Ford because he is already dead. You would go after his life’s work which you think is hidden away in the drone host bunker. You don’t know that they have uploaded everything into Peter Abernathy. To avoid suspicion you follow the Raj narrative and head to the bunker. You also would not want to sleep with a host again so it would not be a stretch to shoot your lover to make sure he is human. As a host, you would survive the fall with the Bengal Tiger. As Theresa, you would have intimate knowledge about how everything works at the park. Just saying.

Charlotte gets her neck scanned by QA and was cleared as human. I think we learned from Sylvester in the Trompe L’Oeuil episode that all of the hosts have explosives in their C6 vertebrae? I think that’s where QA scanned Charlotte. Stands to reason they are checking for the explosives as a way clear her. If so, Maeve and her friends would pass for human.

So Charlotte wants to successfully deliver Peter Abernathy and all of the IP out of the park. Wouldn’t they have to put him in a new body that doesn’t have an explosive? Did they have time to do that? Or was he special in that he never had explosives placed in his spine and that is why he was chosen? Why would that be? Well maybe if he was the reincarnation of Jim Delos, he got special treatment.

Why do the members of Dolores’ horde cover their faces? I get from a production point of view, you would save money. I mean actors who have died as Conferados can now be a horde member. But I just get the feeling that the Westworld writers would have something more meaningful in mind. I get why they are all wearing black. You choose to be a white hat or a black hat in this world of splendor. Following Dolores right now will definitely make you a black hat. Wouldn’t it be great if they all looked like Dolores? Dolores is the original and they are all copies of her. That is why they have to cover their faces.

What does Dolores have to get from Sweetwater? Well, now that Peter has been sullied and Teddy has betrayed her, Dolores would go to Sweetwater to collect her mother, her only family left. Strange how we have never seen Mrs. Abernathy’s face.
