Hi Ash and GeneI have a dilemma. When I first started watching Lovecraft and then found your podcast I was thrilled. I haven’t had this much fun since I had film studies class right after lunch period in high school. I was usually always high (that’s what we did during lunch period back then) and it was mind blowing! I am loving remembering that there are reasons for just about everything in a well crafted show, movie, etc., and this series makes that point to me and you two make it even more interesting and take it to an academic and contextual level that makes this not just entertainment but as Gene said a ‘lesson plan’. But here is my dilemma. I sometimes want to be just entertained. I don’t want to do any work. After this episode Met Meet me in Daegu I’m not sure this series is going to do it for me. The other problem is as a watcher of GOT and West World I got hooked, but I have to admit it took some commitment. I felt like I had missed a class when I missed an episode. I had to watch previous episodes to bring myself up to date, it just became work and I started losing interest. The stories became too tangential, too complicated and more and more dark. This last episode Feels a little out there and didn’t wow me like it did y’all. First it was not as visually tight as the previous episodes. I know this was another time, another country but it didn’t have the same attention to detail. I thought his episode looked fake, made up ‘on set’. It also took us to a whole other person, story line and I worry that it will thin the story and what I was loving with the initial characters. So thank you for doing the majority of the work on this series. We live in times where just comfortably watching doesn’t get the job done when there’s so much to and so much to learn. So I’m hanging in, thank you for that. So before I decided to send this I watched the next episode I Am. Are you fucking kidding me, WOW. I am back in 100%. This by far was my favorite episode on every level. So much in this episode, can’t wait to hear what you have to say. Be sure I’m listening! ThanksMeg in West Chester pa
