George RR Martin reportedly said “mature dragons in the air are virtually invulnerable” which has made us go bat shit crazy over Rhaegals death. We can’t understand how he was taken down so easily. HOW did a spear thingy penetrate the dragons hide?! Welp, I believe I have a pretty simple answer… Danys dragons are nowhere NEAR being mature.

1. Danys dragons are big, but they are nowhere near being full grown. Come to think about it, does anyone know when a dragon actually stops growing? A dragon never stops growing, “so long as it has food and freedom”-Jorah, A storm of swords

2. How the fuck old was Balerion the Black Dread before he died of old age. 200. The answer is 200 years old. With that being said, there is no way Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion are mature. They’re more like toddler dragons, and that’s why they were easier than expected to be taken down.
