My Shat Journey

Hi Shat Crew,

Just wanted to drop you a line to tell you about my ‘shat journey’.

It’s March 2019, my second child was born a few weeks ago and I’ve just had a couple a nightmarish journeys to IKEA to buy a shitload more furniture. My 3 year olds cotbed is getting turned back into a cot and she is upgrading to the big girl bed I’ve just bought – along with 2 wardrobes and some other units.

The point being I had a shitload of flatpack to assemble over a few days before my paternity leave was up. Oh and I fucking hate DIY…mainly because I’m shit at it. I’d rather pay a professional to have a job done properly. I was looking for some company to make the task more pleasurable. Anyway, the final season of Game of Thrones was starting soon and having become an avid podcast listener over the past few years on my commute into London I went in search of a GoT podcast…I found yours.

I listened to the season 8 previews and pretty much loved it straight off the bat. I was enjoying the pod so much I was sneaking off upstairs to carry on assembling so I could get some more episodes in – mainly some old season 7 episodes. I was hooked and the furniture was assembled quickly much to my wife and child’s delight.

So when GoT season 8 came along I listened each week and Gene and Big D insights and deep dives really added to my enjoyment and understand of the show. Then GoT ended…fuck! One of my favourite podcasts done with. No matter, as along the way, I had found Shat the Movies and was already of few deep through the back catalogue. I had been introduced to Roger, Kerri and the King B…awesome stuff. But now I’ve pretty much exhausted Shat the Movies…so what do I do?

Well I heard you guys talk about how excited you were for Watchmen starting up..but I don’t have Sky Atlantic (the channel it is shown on over here). I used to watch GoT around a mates but for reasons more long winded than this email that’s not an option anymore. So, to cut a long story short I now pay £8.99 a month to Rupert Murdoch and co primarily so I can listen to Shat on TV Watcmen…I’ve only seen and listened to episode 1 so far…but so far worth every penny.
