Hey Guys,

So, while writing my other email, i mentioned the lone wolf in symbology, the one used for delores in season 1, which a lone wolf is often described as needing to go a a jouney of “self-discovery”. I thought it was really interesting that in season 1, it was delores’ journey of discovery, finding herself. Now, season 2 opened with the lone wolf in a scene with……The Man in ablack, William, and that should clue us in as to whose jouney of discovery season 2 is about. Just a really interesting finding that went unnoticed until i was researching the Native American Culture Symbology today, it may turn out to make a ton more sense when season 2 comes to a close, I’m guessing we will see the wolf again this season as well…

Thanks, cant wait til the new podcast,

Kenny P.

Thank you for the podcast. The “Maze” (l’itoi) is Native American but not Lakota. They use other similar symbols (medicine wheels), with a similar concept.. And the “Maze” on the show is neither of these symbols and is closest to l’toi. So your logic seems sound for non Native Americans. But… it is not quite correct. If the story line is as important as you seem to think, and goals do seem ”positve”. If HBO does truly wish to present this somewhat correctly, they could hire a few Natives. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%27itoi

No your making it too broad, the native American symbology shown on the show, is the wolf, the paint, and the hands on chest, the maze from season 1 was created by either Ford or Arnold ( at this point we don’t know 100 percent) but given what we know has to be one of the two. I don’t think they are representing 1 tribe in particular, as they are designed by future humans, they seem to be grabbing parts of culture, not from anyone in particular.
