Ned’s Sword

So far I have not heard anyone talk about the significance of Ned’s sword and where it ended up. Forgive me if I just didn’t hear you all talking about it. After Ned was beheaded his sword (named Ice) was melted down by Tywin Lannister and made in to two swords. One was given to Joffrey and the other to Jamie. There’s a scene where Joffrey names the sword widows wail. After Joffrey death somehow Jamie gets the sword. He keeps Joffreys sword and gives his to Brianne of Tarth. I don’t recall who names this one but it it’s called oath keeper (as in keeping the oath to Catlin Stark to protect her daughters). When Jamie knights Brianne they are both “carrying” Ned’s sword.
