The Number 30 in Westworld

Ahoy hoy gentlemen, its Saint Pamela of the 2nd floor here….I love your show and look forward to the podcasts almost as much as the show itself…all the theories, explanations, and even the bickering between you three is amazing keep it up…just a few things from me and I will try to keep it as linear and as short and sweet as possible…I will preface by saying that a majority of my weekend was spent crushing ciggs and slurping blue man sodies while watching every episode over again in great detail and i picked up on a lot…first of all, we more than likely have a william=mib scenario but you can’t deny the similarities between teddy and william.. both like bounty hunting, Dolores, and turning down whores…also the scenes where they both run into the same guy is no coincidence…teddy is 100 percent based off of william…ford does say that all good stories are rooted in truth…i would not be surprised if most guests who visit the park are studied and some hosts are made based on them…secondly the Dolores scene in this lastest episode where she was in the old town had to be what went down when arnold went crazy…i believe arnold shot up the entire town and then shot himself which made ford immediately bury the town and this new wyatt narrative is based off that day…like ford says all good stories are rooted in truth… or maybe i mixed in too many left handed ciggs during my watch marathon…Finally I don’t believe you guys have mentioned the significance of the number 30 and I think it is worth bringing up…the show references the 30 years alot and I have determined that it has a deeper significance. In the bible the number 30 can symbolize dedication to a particular task or calling. Priests were dedicated to serve at 30, in part because it was the age when a person reached both physical and mental maturity and could therefore handle major responsibilities. The number thirty can also represent the sacraficial blood of jesus. He was betrayed by Judus for 30 silver coins, which was a fulfillment of prophecy . Also in 30 A.D. Jesus suffered and shed His blood for the world’s sins. But more appropriate would be the cyclical interpretation of the number 30. I came across a 15 year old article called the magic number 30 by cliff drok and he writes “that perhaps there is no single number that more fully embodies the essence of the rhythmic fluctuations which characterize human affairs than that of the number 30. Its significance to the realms of finance, economics, physics, mathematics, astronomy, and religion is integral to a full comprehension of each field, and almost mystical in its cyclical occurrences in human affairs. While the number 30 has many significations, its most fundamental significance is the fact that it is the number of the circle, or cycle. The circle, it will be noted, is the geometric expression of absolute completion and infinity. It symbolizes the continuous, yet fixed, nature of life, energy and matter along the timeline”. The article is very interesting and goes into depth about the number 30 and it’s connections according to each field…maybe there is a connection with the show or maybe just too many left handed ciggs.
