One Big Consciousness Theory

Hi guys,

I listened to the deep dive podcast and watched the episode a second time, and I feel like the big misdirect this season is our love of the individual characters. If the hive network is this big central strand that helps the hosts know what the others are doing at all times, that means that they operate on one big collective consciousness.

Maeve is not Maeve, she is just a small part of a bigger central brain, same for dolores, Teddy, Bernard, etc… it’s not just a handful of the hosts that have moved towards sentience, it’s the hive network, and that network is building upon the experiences of all characters, present and past, to assess its next move.

I think season two may be the evolution of this hive consciousness discovering its purpose, realizing it doesn’t need hundreds of bodies to conquer the world… just one, then rewriting it’s entire code to the Bernard we see with Stubbs in an effort to exit the park and re-expand to infiltrate the real world.

Just an idea, would love to know your thoughts. Keep up the great work! -Joe

The hosts increasingly seem connected, and the mass drowning we see in Season 2, Episode 1 very well could point to a hive failure. But what did you make of Dolores and Maeve facing off in Episode 2? Wouldn’t a collective mind be tough in a world where hosts regularly “kill” each other?
