I don’t have a lot of time, so I’ll keep it short. Adrian Veidt is Lucifer. Not that he’s evil, but he represents that tragic figure. Like King B stated, he’s not a god. Instead, he is a godlike figure but not quite. Paradise doesn’t do it for him and he pines for the dirty, flawed, complexity of humanity. Those are his children. There’s tons of images that come to mind, but I won’t go into all that. I just don’t think he’s so much a Christ figure as he is the fallen angel. A redeemable, perhaps more relatable, complex fallen angel. Not a flat character like he’s fallen and just bad now. There’s a tension there because he doesn’t experience all time as an eternal now, he’s temporal and in that temporality he’s trying to do something meaningful but it goes awry. Anyway, I could say more but I don’t have time. Just wanted to throw that out there. Long time listener, first time emailer. Love the podcasts. Keep it up. Thanks!
