Really Big D?

Hey guys,

Just got done listening to your Small Council podcast on episode 705 “Eastwatch”

First, I’d like to thank you for making GoT content for us to consume between episodes. Keeps me from breaking down and pirating the leaked BS. Really do appreciated it.

And maybe I’m just cranky from current events, but you guys encouraging people who wrote in asking/praying/begging for this to all end in a democracy, and big D dropping the “I really hope so” on this? Seriously? Isn’t that the most fan service-y fan service we could possibly imagine? This is a feudal medieval fantasy setting and yet people are expecting it to end with a warm and fuzzy democracy just because it’s a system we’re proud of and recognize as superior (for good reasons) in our own world? Come the f%&$ on guys. We like this show, at least in part, because it doesn’t give us what we expect or want all the time. There has been nothing of note akin to a reformation or renaissance which had to happen before our modern world saw anything like a sustainable democracy and I, for one, would be profoundly disappointed if the show copped out like that.

Again, don’t mean to be a jerk, I really do look forward to your ‘casts each week this one just frustrated the hell out of me.
