Hi Shat Team!Let me first start by saying I began by saying I happened upon your podcast while watching Watchmen. I enjoyed your commentary and insights from the show and decided to go on this journey with you guys with Lovecraft Country! I am, thus far, enjoying this particular podcast and look forward to continuing this journey with you guys as well. I just have one ask for Ash. While listening to podcast #3 Ash so profoundly shared learning of the atrocity visited upon the Black citizens of Tulsa via Watchmen. This is extremely common as American history conveniently and consistently omits the experiences of Black Americans. While expressing this truth, Ash referred to the event as the “Tulsa riot” instead of the “Tulsa Massacre which is the most appropriate classification. This is extremely important as Americans are conditioned to attach verbiage with a negative connotation to describe conditions and experiences of people of color (i.e. rioting or looting when they’re the victims of assassination or neglect after suffering decimation from a massive hurricane like Katrina) . Language is important, especially when discussing the experiences of marginalized people groups. Just something for future consideration. Thanks again for providing amazing commentary and I will continue to listen! Respectfully,Sakeniaaka – Ladies1st Clinician
