Ronin Didn’t Understand Maeve

I just discovered your podcast and have listened to every episode for season 2. Love it! However I have to respectfully disagree about the Ronin understanding Maeve in their first encounter. My take on that scene was that the Ronin simply saw Maeve as the group’s leader when he came upon them. It would be pretty easy for him to assume, based solely on her body language, expressions, and the fact that she did most of the talking. I think the Ronin then asked his men to gag her as a show of dominance over the whole group. After all, he never speaks to Maeve in English or shows any actual comprehension of what she said.
