S + T =?

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Greetings.

I rewatched and listened. Thanks for providing your keen insights on the episodes as I powered through seasons 1-7 (again) in the last 2 weeks.

As George said, “it’s bittersweet”, because we are at the end.

Here’s what I’m writing about.

I’m scared of one person, and one person only on the show. That’s Sansa Stark. Why?

She’s been through a lot and is one of the most impacted character of the series. She’s changed. She’s grown. She’s seen so much. I haven’t always been a fan of her character. The whinny teenage kid who is just ignorant to the real world has alway been a non-starter for me in movies or tv series. But, growing from that melodramatic little girl trying to fulfill a fairytale life she shaped in her head, she’s manifested into someone worth keeping an eye on. Sansa has seen pure evil in the forms of her almost mother-in-law and her sadistic bastard-husband. She’s also learned quite a bit from the man who yearned for her mother and then set his sights on her. All these encounters have changed her and I believe she is the most evolved character on the show.

We should all be afraid of her because of what she said to Jon about her time with Cersei. I “learned a great deal” from her. Didn’t that line send chills down your spine? Didn’t it conjure up images of a redhead wielding vengeful and under minding power in the North? If it doesn’t, it should. Maybe I’m being melodramatic now.

In episode 1 of the new season, there is a thread being create between her and Daenerys. There were 3 key scenes where it was said, Sansa doesn’t like the mother of dragons. Some sort of showdown between the two is imminent and it won’t end well for one of them. She may also interrupt the prophecy of the promised prince. The true heir to the thrown may not get a chance to have a seat because of her.

On the prediction side of things, I want to borrow a theory that’s out there. Cersei will bear a child and the aunt/nephew duo may raise this child as their own after the battle is done. I like that theory. I like that prediction. But let me throw this one out there for you. It goes back to Sansa. The exchange between Sansa and Tyrion was telling. They respect each other and I believe Sansa has some feelings (or it will grow this season) for the hand of the Queen. She called him an idiot because in this instance, he is. But there was a little bit of affection behind her comments. My prediction is, Sansa and Tyrion will spark a new, organic relationship and will instead raise Cersei’s child in some high ranking capacity (couple of the North?). Remember, Tyrion loved his niece and nephew (yes, just nephew – singular) and won’t reject the unborn child after Cersei falls at the hands of Arya (“Cersei? Check!).

That is all. Keep the casts coming and I will be listening.

Peace.
