Just a few random thoughts.

If Delos was something apart from the hosts, a real human mind transferred into a host body, his issues wouldn’t stand in the way of creating a host version of a person that doesn’t actually have a human component. Bernard, who’s a host but based on a person, doesn’t have these problems. To me, this suggests they can’t use the Delos-type hybrid as life extenders, but it doesn’t stop them from replacing people with a full host version.

Also, even the MiB said he hasn’t done a good deed to Ford/Lawrence’s daughter at the end of the episode, so I don’t think it’s necessarily a sign of switching back to white hat, but a decent thing done mostly because it fit his endgame.
