Season 8 Episode 4 – Sansa

Hey guys,

During the dinner scene at Winterfell we saw a lot of reaction shots from Sansa – after Dany made Gendry Lord of Storms End and she toasted Arya in particular. After Gendry, Dany said to Tyrion that “you aren’t the only one who’s clever”. Sansa’s face to me said that she knew exactly what Dany was doing, that she was back to playing the game. After that, she got up and walked off. Then later we see some women approach the male fighters, particularly Tormand and The Hound. When The Hound turns her down, Sansa comes to check on him. They have a conversation about how without Baelish and Ramsey, she would have remained a little bird forever. This got me thinking, about all the things she learned from all of her mentors – do you think Sansa has her own women who sleep with men and spy for her, the way Baelish did? The way they started pairing off seems normal enough for after a battle like this, but the way it happened seemed more like a response to Dany’s actions – like she wanted to get an idea of where men stood, if they were loyal to Dany or to Jon. Did any of you get that same take?
