Statue Analogy

Game Wardens,

Love the show going to keep it short, two points and an observation.

1. a better analogy for Dr Manhattan and his perception of time is that of a statue. the statue exists in the same place through time, just like Dr M. The people around it can interact with it, and were it sentient, said statue would be experiencing everything at once from its spot in space/time. the world moves around Dr M, he can see it, but cannot change anything. 2. when angela picks a body for Dr M, she offers the first three choices because… he’s a white man. he may appear to be blue, but history tells us he’s not. she gave him the choices she thought he would be most comfortable with wrapped around him. since the good Dr has changed, it didn’t matter to him, and he offers her the option of her preferred choice, Carl’s body. i feel like the writers room was making a point about not only that change is perspective for Dr M, but also angela not wanting to subject someone she loves to the pressure/bias/racism of being a black man without prior approval.

hope these points resonant, again love the show.

my observation is this, as good as this podcast is, i still miss Big D. shame he didn’t want to participate in this one.

this is the way. i have spoken.
