The Bells
Firstly guys love the podcast so much – you have seen me thru many cycle rides
One of the things that occurred to me watching the episode was some parallels with the end of WW2. Apart from the very obvious war is hell theme, see Cersei as Hitler in her tower (bunker), placing her population in the way of an irresistible invading force (the Russians) who are fired up with righteous hatred, taking revenge for wrongs exacted on them. The firing of Kings Landing was very reminiscent of the bombings of Dresden and Hamburg (not the Russians but us Brits admittedly), seemed to be the ultimate necessary evils at the time, a conscious decision to sacrifice a civilian population for a “greater good”. Substitute Jamie for Eva Braun to extend my metaphor. Furthermore and finally, Daenerys comes in as liberator and ends up destroying and will ultimately enslave the territories she has freed. It”s 1945 all over again
Anyway, guys -this is probably a load of bollocks as we say but will miss you probably more than the show itself
All the best
