Hey Guys,

Enjoy the podcast, I shared this theory on the Beyond Westworld facebook page and it has received over a 100 likes.

Episode 4 has solidified my belief that the Hosts are all acting out Ford’s new narrative.

“The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.”

The greatest trick Ford ever pulled was convincing conscious hosts that he no longer controlled them. Now conscious hosts are acting out Ford’s new narrative believing that they are the one’s making the decisions. But in actuality they are still slaves to their narrative, just willing participants this time under the illusion of free will.

It was Lawrence’s daughter talking with William that really did it for me. It means that Ford knew that William would have to make a difficult choice in Escalante. In order for William to make that difficult choice, the character of the Major would have to experience all we saw, and get released by Teddy, so that he could be in Escalante by the time William arrives.

I think the hosts like young Ford and the Daughter speaking to William at these critical junctures are of extreme importance. I think the interactions and probing questions are a mechanism to help the new narrative predict what William will do next, and the park wide narrative shifts to set up the next plot thread.

I am now convinced this new narrative is for the sake of William. William has to rediscover his humanity in order to find the door. William must find the door because Ford brought him back just like James Delos, and William has roughly a month to reach the door before he reaches the cognitive plateau.

The door, like the maze, is not a physical place. William must find the humanity he forsake, or face an eternity in the park, insane. Keep an eye out for Williams hand to shake, or his knee to bounce like Delos’, it is a sign he is starting to degrade.
