The Last Of the Starks

Hello guys,

First email of this season but have been enjoying your content as always.

I have had the theory that we will end up with Queen Sansa for a while now and this season has re-enforced that opinion.

My thinking is based on the thought that if GRRM has been inspired by the War of the Roses in England then it’s the end of that conflict with Henry Tudor victory over Richard III that ushered in the proto-modern state developing under the Tudors.

There has to be something positive to move Westeros forward from a mediaeval world in what Martin has planned. Sansa as a Queen Elizabeth figure with Tyrion being a Thomas Cromwell type would fit that sort of ending.

Hearing the line from Sansa that the men in her family don’t do well in the South made me think “what about the women?”. Jon might not be fit to rule but Sansa might.

Add this to her playing of Tyrion in episode three and four. I am clearly on the Sansa playing the game of thrones train here.

Sansa is thinking at minimum of taking control of the North and if possible control of the entire kingdom. Just as Littlefinger taught her, think of multiple options to pursue.

Could Arya be right and Sansa is the cleverest person in the room?

Thanks for reading and for the podcasts

Best wishes
