The Only Person That Believes Season 8 Has Been Perfect

Hey Guys,

I may be the only person that believes season 8 has been perfect. I had no expectations of it going my way or the creator proving my theories right so I have no disappointments to lament over. All I wanted was it to end by defying my expectations and this episode did. I didn’t realize how much I had been fed up with what the show had put me through until her annihilation of King’s Landing. We’ve lived through 8 seasons of rape, games, backstabbing, intrigue, violence, mutilations, animal abuse, and exploitative behavior from all characters that have left me exhausted and I didn’t know how exhausted until she continued to burn things down well past my comfort done, then I felt liberated.

For me, it was about destroying the system. The patriarchy set in place by her ancestors that no longer served her or anyone for that matter. The one that victimized her and others around her. Then she builds herself back up after being sold by her brother, gave herself and resources to others at the expense of her own goals only to be told a man would do it better by a bunch of men who start gaslighting her because she finally showed emotions for all she had gone through? Nope.

There was no other way to break the wheel then what she did, even at the sacrifice of innocents. When I first watched the first parts of the episode, I was part of that system, part of that wheel that went along with speculations and half baked ideas. The more I let go of my ego, the more I enjoyed what was actually happening. It was complete and total destruction of the patriarchy. Season 8 to me is about being philosophical and reminiscing about something that was long dead but we’re unable to let it go so the only thing to do was was to destroy it completely (the actual show and patriarchy). It was a reminder that you can’t be reborn without first completely destroying the old. Varys’s death was the symbol of the death of that patriarchy. When he made the statement about true power lies in the hands of men, the show made its statement to me. No Varys, true power stands in the hands of a woman with a powerful dragon.

Thanks for hearing me out.

Love love your show and insights
