Don’t miss the central point of why Maeve was run through the VR. Serac had her pearl and needed to confirm that she was not the host that had redirected the coordinates of the Forge beam. When she revealed to Lee that she had no idea how it worked and had never been there before, Lee acted surprised. After that the whole point of the VR broke down and it began to glitch leading to Maeve’s escape back to the reality of Serac’s villa. Maybe the reason Maeve’s behavior didn’t degrade was because the whole VR was running on her pearl.
