Theories From UK

Hello chaps,

Really enjoying your work – you’re making Tube travel in London a lot more tolerable.

OK, a few random ideas which I’m not sure form any one single theory, but might inform debate. I’ll apologise in advance if you’ve gone over this ground already.

Ford’s hair
I’ve noticed in the last episode when Maeve was very emotional and Ford came rushing in that his hair looked quite different. Having watched through Episode one again it’s really obvious he has two very different hair styles. One (which I think is him as a younger man) is swept back and on end – sort of mad prof style.

The other is ‘calmer’ ie not swept back and looks very in control. He has it like this also in episode one (when he’s talking to Old Bill) and various other times. It would suggest two different timelines. I admit, it’s quite a subtle difference, but worthy of note. Old men don’t really give a toss about their hair style, so I guess it just changed over time.

Similar sounding words

There are two significant things which sound like the word Maze – Maeve and Mesa as in Mesa Gold. In terms of Maeve there was a direct connection when she was curled up like a child in the centre of the maze. Feels it’s hinting at something.

Also Delos is very like Delores, which is a name with deep religious significance: what with the church references and the character’s clear resemblance to Our Lady at times, there’s also some heavy hinting going on (or perhaps it’s just a massive red herring).

I hope you find a home for these words in the Telegraph. I am going slowly mad trying to work this series out. I’m holding on to anything!

Happy Thanksgiving.

Stephen
