This Will Just Be a Load Of Nonsense I Need To Get Out There

THIS IS A LONG ONE, PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS WORD FOR WORD OR LET ROG EVEN ATTEMPT TO TRUNCATE IT THESE ARE JUST MY RAMBLINGS, WHICH ARE ANNOYING, THAT I THINK NEED TO BE STATED FROM A GIRL/SISTER PERSPECTIVE (and also from a really obsessed almost crazy ass fan of the show)

ok this is once again coming from my skewed perception of Arya and Sansa’s relationship, which is clearly tainted by my own relationship with my younger sister (yes i am declaring i am fucking lemon cake loving sansa stark of my household….well, for the most part, but we’ll get to that)

Since last night’s episode, its been bugging me, how Arya looks at Sansa, almost with disgust, at everything that Sansa is. First off she is pissed that Sansa didnt behead anyone who was questioning Jon’s decisions, she was annoyed that out of all the bedrooms in the castle, Sansa HAD to take their parents finest room, even their first encounter “do i have to call you Lady Stark” which Sansa sort of squashed like Yea actually bitch you do, this all at first seemed like something you could pass off as typical sisterly-rivalry. But, and again this is a skewed perception but, maybe this goes a lot deeper and darker than a jealousy between the two.

Arya has changed. She has become a killer, shes more cunning, shes more witty and smart than most could ever understand. She left her home for Braavos, where she trained with the Faceless Men, and could have lived out the rest of her life as an assasin for the many faced god. She didnt, she came home, why? Loyalty. Yes revenge may have propelled her further along, but in essence she came back because she had loyalty to her home, to her family. While we can go back and forth debating on if her change is good or bad, (settling or very scary?) shes changed and yet still remained faithful to her Stark name, being the loyal person Ned raised her to be.

On the other hand, Sansa is still fucking Sansa. It was not until Arya pointed out the “finer things” comment that it really dawned on me, yes Sansa may be able to think like a leader with the rationing of grain or yes she may have the ability to know Jon would need the Veil in order to defeat Ramsey. But Sansa is still fucking Sansa. She is still the same person that would sell out her own family instead of fight, she gives in when there is a knife pressed against her throat, she does not fight till her last dying breath. If she has learned anything from Little Finger its how to make sure that in the end of it all its her that survives. While she is happy that Jon is home, shes still pissed he gets the kingdom before she, the reason that reunion last year was so meaningful was because for once Sansa wasnt judging Jon for being the bastard of her family. Thats why she is so seemingly sorry and humbeled towards Jon because she knows what a cunt she was when they were growing up treating him like shit because he wasnt a true Stark. Sansa hasnt grown in the way Arya has, she has seemingly no loyalty to the house name, but rather is only looking out for herself.

You know in the preview for the season how we focused on the Lone Wolf voice over? well maybe it isnt about Jon or Arya being the lone wolf of the pack, maybe its actually Sansa, the only Stark who seems to be only interested in helping herself, in ensuring that above all else she turns out ok.

So here i was all happy that the two sisters got back together, only for now to realize they were better off staying seperated. How can Arya go foward with Sansa, knowing that Sansa was willing to write to Robb and have him bend the knee for Joffrey? even if it was under duress, Arya is of that strict code i feel where she would have rather had Cersi chop off her hands than write a raven telling her brother to bend the knee to Joffrey. And clearly Arya would have chopped off the head of any of the leaders who question Jon’s actions in open court, because to her that is disloyal to the named king.

Yes i understand that its Little Fingers end goal to continue driving wedges between the Stark kids (sorry gene i think the days of hoping he was snape are dead), but maybe this is one time that they needed to see there was already a wedge there, it just needed a good wack to drive it further. Maybe I am crazy, but i dont think Arya killing Sansa is out of the question or an option that is off the table. I know we all want Arya to realize what Little Finger is doing and end his life, but really if we think about it, Sansa is a cancer in this game. Sansa cannot be trusted, she is not out to better her family, she is not out to be an equal to the people whom she rules over, she is looking to be better to be above her people, to let them know they are they and she is she and they are not on the same playing field. She can never be a leader for the people, only a leader of the people. She is too good at these manipulation games, i mean lets even re-watch her interaction with Bran when he gets back, her FIRST thoughts arent about anything other than, Oh youre lord of Winterfell now, almost like oh well i guess cause youre the male you get to have this go ahead go get it, and he has to sit there, humiliated and be like uh no its ok you can keep winterfell im a cripple and i see out of birds. like really Sansa? youre that insecure that even your own cripple brother you were worried about taking your seat at the table?

Maybe its a bigger projection, on how society has made women, even women who have been through so much and have proven themselves as survivors, are still thrown away when there is a male next in line, we’re even guilty of it, how when we see that Jon’s mom and dad were actually married thereby making his claim to the throne “better” than danaryus’ claim, and oh maybe that will cause for some contention. I mean, we do it all the time, so maybe Sansa is what the manifestation of all the gripe that women put up with solidified into human character is, but fuck she isnt loyal to her own family and therefore i, as a woman, reject her. And again thats fucked up that if we see a man killing his family for the sake of bettering himself we go ah i see ok thats how its done, but seeing a woman do it infuriates me, but oh well, fuck me then i guess but really its unsettling how threatened i now feel Sansa is of her family returning. That while i thought i was going to get this powerful dynamic duo of Start Sisters in action taking the castle and running shit, i fear its more once again pinning two gals against each other. Aryas convictions are too strong to just get over, Sansa would have to make a serious fucking sacrifice in order for Arya to shake her already tainted view of her sister and her materialistic ways. This is so my sister and I (my sister is 3 years younger, a licensed social worker for a major hospital in Baltimore where she lives on her own in a lovely brownstone wondering why we arent doing more in new jersey for children’s mental health and advocating tirelessly to better equip parents and caregivers on how to treat children with heart breaking disabilities, while i live at home with our parents wondering what bag will make me look more rich when driving around hoboken looking for a drive through starbucks)

But this also leads me to a bigger hmmmm point. is it odd that, for the first time in however many thousands of years history of Westeros, we have two females gunning for power over the entierty of the world right? ok. and woooo hoo feminism look at these two bad bitches running their country and conducting their armies wooo hooo. ok sure. i can rally behind TV showing us two strong female leads taking power back from the men. But really do both have to be fucking mad? and yes for the record i think we are finally getting the proof that Dany is fucking mad, she walks a very fine line between leader of the people and leader for the people, she is someone who can easily burn everything down because fuck it shes got dragons, and cersi we already know is willing to burn shit down for the sake of getting the win. they are both mad dogs on two very short leashes only being held back by…..MEN. i think its hilarious how we’re sitting here like WOOOO FEMALES WOOOOOO meanwhile really, its still the fucking men that are running shit. Tyrion can just waltz up to kings landing tell everyone we’re gonna have a dead guy to show you tell Cersi to cease fire, JAIME can walk right into chambers and be like oh well lets wait and see about this dead guy, Jon can tell Dany to do whatever the fuck he wants and she’ll think its the golden rule, even Tyrion going to Jorah “you need to come back, our queen needs you” yes she needs MORE MEN AROUND HER TO KEEP HER SANE, fucking Messandi is NEVER AROUND WHEN WISE COUNSEL IS SOUGHT unless shes giving the winky heart eyes to dany over grey worm like youre just girl talking thats your wise fucking counsel. Even fucking SANSA is being controlled by a MAN.

i swear if i see one more WOO HOO WOMEN thing (which yes i really was a part of until im realizing more and more theyre just making us look bat shit crazy and thats fucked up) im going to scream. it just makes me feel stupid that we’re all waiting for these bad ass women and all theyre doing is listening to the men. and clearly THEY NEED TO LISTEN TO THE MEN otherwise theyd be fucking Trump and N. Korea pointing nukes at one another, but still damn its clear a good ruler has no gender it all comes down to who they allow themselves to take advice from

which leads us right back to Varyus. Ok guys, ive said it before and ill say it again Varyus is fucking SCARED of danayus, lets talk about how he drank (YES for the first time EVER on this show) while he is recalling the memories of his part in the Mad King’s madness, its clear he played an intricate part in supplying the Mad King with his victims, all while telling himself that he was not the one burning them, for which now he still harbors the guilt of all those lives lost because of his informing. It almost feels as though this was the event (the cornerstone….eh….come on westworld tie ins) that defined how he would conduct himself going forward. Break down his retelling of the events, he would know who were the traitors going behind the Mad King’s back, and he would tell on them, bring them before the Mad King and watch as their bodies were burned alive. His information was so powerful it had people killed, maybe this is why Varyus is more selective over who gets what information and when they get it, maybe this is why he is so cautionary with Dany knowing that even those with good intentions, when given information, can destroy lives because of that information. The Mad King is clearly the lesson Varyus learned, and maybe that can explain why he pledges alligence to no one, but the people. Its clear that while in the moment he did not blame himself but now looking back and seeing all the evil that had come from it, he realizes his part in the blame game. That after all this time has passed he realizes that you need a ruler that is willing to take the advice of counsel no matter how much they may be against it, that you need input from multiple sources, the same as the Mad King did, Varyus didnt counsel his leader then, maybe he too is scared that he wouldnt be able to do right by Dany now, or that the council he gives her will lead her down that same dark path it did the Mad King. I think there is so so much to Varyus that we are not giving him credit for, i think they are not even being fair portraying him right now on screen, i wanted more with Varyus i want to know more about whats going on in his head, what is he planning, how bad does he hold himself out to be as a player in the Mad King’s madness. Its just all so much not being said i wonder if theyre giving us clues about Varyus true humanity towards wanting good for this country that we arent even paying attention because we’re too busy focused on everything else that is happening. like scenes arent given the chance to breath.

And now just some expanded rambling: (like there isnt enough)

1. GENDRY: yes i am a fucking fan girl who hit the ROOF when Sir Davos was waltzing through the town, when i heard that hammer come down on that metal, i squealed out loud. yes let this be known, i TRULY believe that if you make a character go away, and not be heard from for over 4 years, THIS is how you bring them back without it being stupid. This made perfect sense. Yes i remember the Onion telling Gendry how to make it back to kings landing, i remember him putting him on a boat, NO IT DID NOT DAWN ON ME THAT THIS KID WOULD ACTUALLY MAKE IT BACK, GET BACK TO HIS SHOP AND KEEP WORKING WITH HIS HEAD DOWN. NO NOT AT ALL. and bam there he was, as plausible as ever like JESUS that was an awesome reveal. and YES im sorry her takes the Man-Hunk-Cake of the season right now, not because of his looks (lets be honest we liked the slightly longer feathered haired Gendry then we do this buzz-cut fresh off of boot camp gendry but i digress), my ovaries REJOYCED when Sir Davos merely says “well ill be needing you….” BOOM kid is packed and ready to go, like FUCK YES you gave your life for me im here now tell me who needs to be wacked and im on it like my god this was better than anything i could have dreamed of, no questions asked, hes a low born child who never had a family, his surrogate “dad” who saved him from a wacked out priestess comes and asks for a favor and hes down, you dont gotta explain onion idc what i see im in this lets go. like just fucking wow. and then the BALLS on him to just walk right up to jon all “hey youre the bastard of ned im the bastard of robert, they won shit NOW LETS DO THIS” call it the Jersey Girl mobster in me but this is how shit is supposed to be done. This is two kids who just want to fight the good fight no matter if they loose their lives in the process. even davos is like “well ya know i must know nothing seeing as im old and thats apparently a bad thing” like thanks onion for your concern, youre smart, but we’re gonna kick some ass. you KNOW this is going to end badly but oh it feels so so right. where i am pissed is that NO ONE BROUGHT UP ARYA. LIKE, CAN WE GO BACK AND REMEMBER GENDRY LOVED ARYA “you would be my lady” LIKE COME ON. ugh i hope he comes back, just to kiss arya, yes i am a hopeless romantic and i would MUCH rather fucking see arya and gendry then jon and dany (sorry not sorry i loved their little love session)

2. Ok i was lost for a second, with that whole jail house break scene, why was Berrick so mad seeing Jorah? then i remembered OH THATS RIGHT, fucking NED STARK sent Berrick out on his quest to FIND the traitor and disserter Jorah. THATS WHY HE LEFT KINGS LANDING BEFORE SHIT GOT REAL. and thats what sent him on the path to being killed, and being resurrected by the Lord of Light. Hmmmmmm so just to recap that long winded sentence: (a) Ned sends out Berrick to get Jorah
(b) in the process of getting Jorah, the War of 5 Kings starts, Ned is beheaded, and Berrick is killed, and brought back by his good friend (and the Lord of Light) (c) Jorah ends up on the other side of the world with dany
(d) Berrick gets to see Arya along the way, guide her to the Hound and sell Gendry to the Red Woman (e) and now Jorah the Hound Gendry are all back in the same spot!!!! I was wondering why Berrick just sat up like JORAH but yea DUH the whole reason his mission started was cause Jorah ran away so in a way it was Jorah who put Berrick on the path of being the choosen one or at least the one that gets to be brought back to life by the Lord of Light, all very telling, I wonder what Jorah would see in the flames (expand more thought here but im really rushing for time)

3. It was a fucking troupe, dont even try and explain it, it was campy when theyre sitting with Tormound like hmm its gonna be hard with just us few guys out there and suddenly its all WELL HEY LETS GO SEE WHOSE IN OUR CELLS like really now REALLY.
