Could Tyrion Be a Double Agent?

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the great podcast. Seeing a new episode on my playlist before heading to or from work makes the drive much more enjoyable.

After watching the Game of Thrones season 7 finale twice, I can’t help but think it’s possible that Tyrion may be the saboteur amongst Daenerys’ ranks. In particular, the lines that Tyrion states to Cersei that “the childrens’ death hurt him the most” (or something like that). Presuming that he includes Joffrey in such feelings, could this have given him motivation to put into action a battle plan that would lead to the deaths of both the Queen of Thorns (who killed Joffrey) and the Sand Snakes (who killed Myrcella)?

When he returns to the Dragon Pit with Cersei in tow in the finale, he does not seemed pleased even though he presumably knows at such point that Cersei is planning to offer to call in the Lannister banners to support the war in the North. Could it be because he also knows that Cersei does not really intend to honor such offer and he feels no joy knowing that he is now in the position of betraying Daenerys, Jon Snow and all of their followers (and all of mankind)?

I hope I am wrong about this but I keep thinking that the line in the show about Tyrion regretting the deaths of his niece and nephews was put there as a hint as to Tyrion’s current motivations.

In any event, hope you guys and Rog get things worked out. Keep up the great work.

-Ken
