Shat people, great season analysis. A few points. First, where was the “co-host King Bee”? Maybe you can get him in for the award show – we need us some King Bee. Second, yo Ash, you’re a GD professor. “Begging the question” is NOT “raising the question”. That improper logical fallacy BOLLSHIT totally takes me out of the episode analysis. Last, this last episode sealed it for me. Love the analysis, the deep dives, etc. But, damn, this show is not “deep”. It’s not shallow either but it is clearly in the middle of the pool depth. And, some of this action in the background is straight up bunk. How in the hell did any of those “miss by a mile” punches/slaps/palms (???) make it into the final cut? I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the concept and brilliance of the first episode and the promise of this season. And, even to the end, they delivered a compelling story and some pretty awesome surprises – with a few plot holes. If anything, more than any season, this one provoked me to watch every episode twice. I’m an avid Philip K Dick reader and this idea about free will and what it means to be human is awesome so Westworld is in my wheelhouse – I’m all in. It really plumbs into what I think about when I’m falling asleep or on long road trip or long periods at sea (I’m in the Navy). I get it Westworld, I get it. AND I WANT IT – NOW JUST GIVE IT TO ME in all it’s weird, incomprehensible, watch-it-ten-times-and-still-don’t-get-it cinematic post-modern plotlessness. My problem is they never really served it up. Instead, I think we got a little bit of mainstream for our 1.5 year wait. I’m slightly disappointed but not completely. It was a cool ride despite the missteps and I appreciate sharing with the shat crew. Favorite episode – Nostalgia. I want some and I’m assuming it won’t show up on a urinalysis! Best moment – episode 8 stinger. Fuck, now I’m hooked for another season!!! Cheers, Paul B in San Diego.
