Westworld Season 3, Ep 3
Love Shat the Movies and that brought me to Shat on TV, especially since I love Watchmen and Westworld.
I am not sure if y’all have brought this up before, but I’ve noticed that there is an absence of government. In the first 2 seasons, restricted to Westworld and not the “outside” world, all intervention and oversight, whether QA or security, is done in house. Now in Season 3, if this LA really is the “real” world, we see virtually no government. There is not a single character that is a representative of government. The only thing that comes close is some of the Police vehicles yet, aside from the obvious imposters who attempt to kill Dolores, these may not be representative of government either. It seems that everything is run by corporations. All of the power structures represented are corporations and the people who control them. While many themes have been presented thus far, are the show runners also showing us a future when corporations being in control is no longer in the shadows, so to speak? Are they positing that governments are obsolete or just completely irrelevant? We certainly seem to be there now and another show that goes in that direction, Mr. Robot, addresses this directly. Thoughts?

Danny, you are correct. At this point, maybe Incite is the government. Scary thought.
