Westworld Theory- Arnold/ Uhm Actually

Hey guys!

I was listening to your deep dive this afternoon and was very interested in the idea that Arnold was never actually a physical being. It was mentioned during the podcast that no one knew of Arnold as a partner, but both Logan and the MIB (William) mention Arnold in the first season.

The MIB mentions him by name, while Logan knows there was a partner who died in the park, but not his name, he says;

“Supposedly this place was all started by a partnership and then right before the park opened, one of the partners killed himself. I mean, I don’t know any of the details. I don’t even know his name.”

The MIB says he “broke his own rule. He died right here in the park.”

They are both aware that there was some kind of partnership, that he died in the park, and Ford mentions that his involvement was “scrubbed” from the records.

However, I love the idea that Arnold was actually AI and don’t think that him never being a physical being and don’t think it is too far fetched (though I could see it being either no physical form OR his AI was in fact placed into some kind of other host body).

Delos didn’t pull funding after the incident, but they are under the impression that despite their belief that Arnold was a person, he killed himself. Not knowing the specifics, it wouldn’t seem like a host problem to them.

Just a thought!
