Dear Hosts,

First, thank you for the Podcast. I thoroughly enjoy
being put into Analysis mode during my commute.

I’d like you to comment on the conversation between William
and Robert at the bar during the charity event and what
this may say about what the “Valley Beyond,” “The Project,”
and the “Forge” could really be.

First, Ford says that he didn’t break the agreement
between them, but that “The Project” broke the agreement.
Ford doesn’t say that someone or people working as part
of the Project broke the agreement, but the Project itself had. William doesn’t seem to know what Ford is talking about. Something happened that William doesn’t seem to be aware of.
OK. This could be semantics; however, Ford then asks William
when the last time William has looked at his creation and what “IT” has been learning about its subjects.
Ford seems to be continually referring to William’s Project as an entity.

Will we find that the Forge has become greater than an accumulation of its stored human thought patterns, and that as a collective, it has achieved a consciousness based on all the guests? Is this the next step in human evolution? Will guest and host alike need to band together to stop it?
I really hope they haven’t built the next Skynet, but your thoughts on this exchange would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,
Steve the plasma physicist.
P.S. The Man in Black is human.
