Dear Shat on TV friends,

The Ben and Sam Sibling duo have returned, so get your tin foil hats on!

One thing that struck me in the last season is how Ford and Arnold could afford to build and design the park. If Westworld is on a man-made island (or giant underwater geoDome with multiple islands inside), how did Ford and Arnold build the park’s external and internal infrastructure with just them and “a small team of engineers.”

Even before Arnold’s death, Delos was intimately involved with the park, because Arnold begged Ford to not let “you people in, the money men, Delos.” During William and Logan’s storyline, Logan says that the company needs to “bump our stake in this place” implying that Delos already has a stake in the park.

What is Delos? We think that Delos is a company that fabricates islands and sells them to independent science organizations conducting projects that for legal reasons can only be conducted in international waters. There are a couple pieces of evidence for this:

  1. Delos is a greek island that according to myth, was raised out of the ocean by Poseidon.
  2. The globe in cold storage is branded by Delos, NOT Westworld. We have never seen Delos marketed in Westworld, since Westworld always has its own branding. The cold storage space (with the globe and water flowing in) was originally owned by Delos, NOT Westworld.
  3. From Bernard’s video calls, we know that it’s hard to get a clear video feed from “out here.” However, Teressa’s video call with a Chinese businessman (A Delos board member, presumably) is extremely clear, implying that the board member is not on “the mainland,” but is is somewhere Delos owned that is not the Westworld property.
  4. in season 2, Hale knows about a underground lab that Bernard doesn’t know about. That lab could have existed before westworld as part of Delos’s property

Let us know what you think! We’re so glad that the best westworld podcasters are back and can’t wait to watch this new season along side you!

Best,
Ben and Sam
