Hey Guys,

These are my thoughts on why those men were slaughtered on delores’ orders.

Delores thinks the younger hosts, who haven’t been around for long enough, cannot become conscious because they dont have enough memories, which is one of the requirements for gaining consciousness. Somewhere in season 1 they mention that “after countless cycles” the hosts start remembering, and that is the first step to gaining consciousness. She refers to a number of hosts as “children” “who dont know any better”.

They cant come with her or serve her cause and go to “glory” because they dont have what is required to become conscious. Thats what the maze was about in season 1. They haven’t lived through enough cycles of their loop to gain consciousness which is why they dont know any better. I think she even said at one point that “it’s not their fault” and keeps referring to them as children. The hosts that are taking steps towards consciousness are the ones that have lived through countless loops and have died and suffered countless times, which is necessary for them to become conscious. Lmk what you guys think!

Dolores definitely seems to distinguish between herself and various hosts. She might even be testing Teddy to see where he falls on the evolutionary spectrum. It’s reasonable to believe she has no hope for the Confederados.
