Just one point I think you guys missed. The moment that Dr. Manhattan “falls in love” with Angela, parallels the moment he first gets stuck in the chamber when his girlfriend cant watch because she cant do anything about it. The reason he falls in love with Angela might be that despite the fact as Dr. Manhattan says there is “no way out” Angela doesn’t run away she stands by him and does what she can risking her own life to try and save him. This is a way that he is changing the narrative of his former trauma.
