Why MIB Was Cruel At 149

I have a theory on why the MIB was so cruel to Jim Delos on attempt 149. In season 1, we learned that in order to gain consciousness is through suffering.

During attempt 149, MIB dropped some major bombs on Jim making him suffer: Lost his daughter to suicide
Lost his son to overdose
No more attempts
Jim didn’t deserve to live forever

Then MIB leaves Jim in the cell to suffer, not incinerating the cell. Maybe all of this is for Jim to gain consciousness????

And I think the reason they incinerate each session that failed is so Jim can’t leave himself clues. Like Maeve leaving her other self drawings of the tech guys.

Just a thought, could be wrong!
