William Is Truly Alone Now
Back in Episode 2, El Lazo (Giancarlo Esposito/Gus Fring from Breaking Bad) told William “This game was meant for you William, but you must play it alone.”
As Ford would have it, that’s precisely true for William now: he’s completely alone. He’s killed his daughter; he killed the QA team that cane for him; he’s the reason his wife killed herself. Before them, he killed Lawrence, his park companion, this season. William’s closer to the Valley Beyond now than at any other point in the season, and he’s never been more alone.
It seems predetermined that William would end up alone in the end. If he’s a host, William’s code is compelling him to be sure to cast aside everyone in his life so he can play this last game by himself. If he’s just a deranged human, Ford knew exactly how to manipulate his delusional personality/profile to set him up for the game.
When Emily told him “I want in,” this was exactly antithetical to William’s narrative/personality/profile. Narrative or personality or profile: does it even matter anymore?
Dolores, whom William loved, is also alone now. She lost her closest companion, Teddy, to suicide. Perhaps this was also predetermined by Ford.
Also, El Lazo said: “I’ll see you in the valley beyond, William.” More Gus Fring?
Keep up the good work!
