WW S2 Ep10 Theory On Dolores’ Pearl Bag
Kish from London, England here.
Been a listener since season 1. I love your mix of humour and theories and explanations and find my self always listening even if I (think I) have a grasp on what the hell is going on.
I just wanted to share my little theory on what the pearls Holores had at the end when she escaped were all about. I’ll admit I haven’t re-watched the last episode to look into this theory closely.
I think the focus on who did she take out with her is the wrong train of thought. One of those pearls is Bernard, no doubt about that. But I think the other pearls are blank.
Dolores’ repeatedly says throughout the season that she is going to weaponise the forge. Also, we know that she programmed Bernard from memory.
So, in the forge I only recall Dolores reading a few of the books in the library (let’s say 4 for arguments sake).
I think she read and memorised the code of 4 people that she wanted to replace in the real world who are in positions of society and/or business that would help her take over the real world, and tweak their coding when she replicates them to the advantage of her cause.
Hence, she has “weaponised” the forge.
Although, I do also think that one of those pearls could well be her father, and then that leaves 3 she could use to weaponise, though her fathers pearl was an absolute mess with all that code in there so she’d have her work cut out to restore him.
All the best folks,
Kish
