Fargo (1996)

Fargo Quote: “Mind if I sit down? I’m carrying quite a load here.” – Marge Gunderson

Team Shat is no stranger to Coen Brothers movies, but “Fargo” stands apart for its perfect casting, delicious darkness, and unmistakable backdrop.

Listener Eric J. made Ash’s year by choosing this almost-true-crime film that made Big D weigh the pros and cons of living in North Dakota and made Gene recall the tragic tale of a sexually frustrated stallion.

Questions that came up this week include: Would you take the money? Does carrying a gun make you safer or more at risk? What should a pregnant woman eat? And what sets Big D’s fighting style apart from a normal man’s?

Stick around until the end to hear Ash make Shat The Movies history and listener mail about “Clerks.”

Miss Roger a lot and Ashley isn’t my favorite. Odd chemistry and it’s not funny anymore. PC police overload. I discovered this pod in April. I have gone back and listened to old episodes and am caught to current. I really enjoys all the hosts. This is my era of growing up with movies, so I really enjoy the hosts take on them and see if they hold up. I too have done that with 80’s and 90’s movies. Great pod and good job by all the hosts. Keep up the good work.
