The Devil’s Advocate (1997)

The Devil’s Advocate Quote:
“”Vanity, definitely my favorite sin”” – John Milton

Each Shat The Movies host brought unique insights to shed light on 1997’s “The Devil’s Advocate.” Dick gifted us with his knowledge of Gainesville, Fla. Gene examined the justice system. And Ash explained scripture and social pressure.

And then the conversation quickly devolved into rants about Keanu Reeves’ excessive kissing, body hair, Al Pacino’s sex appeal, how the Antichrist works, incest, weird boobs, Southern accents and parental controls.

Big thanks to Andy in Norway for commissioning this supernatural horror that proves sometimes a quiet ending is the best ending.

Plot Summary: “The Devil’s Advocate” Aspiring Florida defense lawyer Kevin Lomax (Keanu Reeves) accepts a high-powered position at a New York law firm headed by legal shark John Milton (Al Pacino). As Kevin moves up in the firm’s ranks, his wife, Mary Ann (Charlize Theron), has several frightening, mystical experiences that begin to warp her sense of reality. With the stakes getting higher with each case, Kevin quickly learns that his mentor is planning a far greater evil than simply winning without scruples.
