Hey guys!

I was starting to merely suspect I had an unhealthy obsession with West World. I watch every episode at least twice, and while I’m at the gym I listen to a podcasts about said TV show. About a week ago, after finding myself annoyed and unfulfilled with one West World podcast – which shall remain nameless unless you REALLY want to know – I investigated another – yours. I’ve now abandoned that first one completely. I’m now e-mailing you about a theory, something I’ve never done before. That mere suspicion that I might have an unhealthy obsession, can now be confirmed. I’m obsessed. Love the show guys. Truly.

Okay onto my theory, If you watch the first episode and look at the scene where Teddy tries to shoot the Man in Black, you’ll notice the bullets from Teddy’s gun seem to almost go through the Man in Black’s body. They make a sort of whooshing noise and he barely flinches. If, however, you look at the scene where William gets shot in the street defending the Lady Gaga Hooker, you plainly see the bullets not only knock him down, but they actually cause some pain and leave a mark. It’s as though in the future version of West World, they’ve created different “simunition” that won’t hurt the guests at all.

What do you think? Thanks for taking the time! – Chris

    Lady Gaga Hooker = life.

Anyway, I initially had the same thought: simunnitions have been toned down for park safety. That falls in line with weapons privileges being restricted and explosions needing approval in a safer Westworld of the future.

But there’s another possibility: What if MiB isn’t human? I’m not saying he’s an android, but what about a cyborg? Notice his body always is covered up, and he’s strong enough to just string up Lawrence over a tree branch. Could it be MiB reacts differently to being shot because his body isn’t flesh-and-bone?
