Hey guys, great podcast. Each week I look forward to, not just the airing of the new Westword episodes, but your podcast as well. Love the theories and the way you guys go back and forth. Also, it’s amusing to me to hear you guys give each other shit. Keep up the good work. I hope you have the aluminium ready.

I have been keeping up with the show one episode at a time just like the rest of us, however, I have a friend whom I’m trying to get in to the show. We sat down the other day and watched the first episode and this was actually the first time I re-watched it. After it ended he went home but I kept watching. I made it through episode 3 and was amazed at all the stuff I picked up on (or am thinking that I’m picking up on, rather). So here it goes. I apologize for the format of this email, but I just jotted things down as my mind raced with ideas. So, here goes:

Teddy is William. MiB says to Dolores that pairing him (Teddy) and Dolores up “just seemed cruel”. Why would a guest such as MiB call this “cruel”? Why define their relationship at all? To a guest, what difference would it make as to who the Hosts were involved with? The only reason I see, is that it’s cruel for a reason, it’s cruel because of their history. Because Teddy=William.

William betrays Logan; Teddy betrays Wyatt. And all good fiction is built with a little truth.

MiB is Logan. If William is Teddy then it’s possible Logan witnessed or found out about his transition somehow. Now, after his wife found out about the sick and twisted things her husband was up to (guy/girl orgies, needlessly killing, etc) she lost it. If MiB=Logan then Ford could have bought him off when he was a younger man to keep him quiet about said events. His company already owns a small stake in the park and Logan/MiB expresses interest in wanting more. In his
family…”everything is business”.

The reason Teddy suffers so much is because Ford is punishing William.

If Maeve unlocks Teddy/William and if he starts remembering some truly real shit, well that man’s probably got a huge grudge to pick with Delos and employees and the MiB.

MiB sees Westworld as a game with winners and losers. Logan has also referred to Westworld as a game.

During episode 2 when they start to show Dolores glitching out, the scene fades off her and to William in the train when she’s out in front of her house in the middle of the night and told to “remember”. Then we come back to her, at night, in her front yard after just cutting from black in which the last thing the audience was shown is Teddy about to get “cleaned up” in the body shop after getting shot at Maeve’s. The juxtaposition is obvious to be. William is somehow Teddy. William meets Dolores in the same manner that Teddy sees her everyday on his loop; picking up the can she drops and handing it back to her.

Hosts could be added at anytime with a backstory that puts them there much earlier.

Teddy’s in Maeve’s Saloon because it puts him across the street and gives him a clear view of where Dolores will be. Clementine says her line to Teddy because that’s the first thing William ever heard her say.

“Don’t mind me, just trying to look chivalrous” -Teddy; watch for William to say this line in a future episode.

Logan says that his sister “road a few cowboys” while she was at the park. So if William’s future wife finds out that he hooked up with Dolores, well, she did things too. I get that if emotions creeped in, this could be looked at differently. However a small leap of faith (that I have to make for this theory) is that she wouldn’t care all that much.

When Elsie kisses Clementine seems very out of place, given all we have now.

So what are the MiB/Logan’s motive for finding the maze? No clue. But I suspect we’ll all find out in due time.

I hope this wasn’t as confusing as I think it might be due to the format.

Thanks,

Bryan J
