I had an interesting theory regarding the Charlotte Hale host. This involves the buzzing noise on her phone that she interacts with. This is a wayyyy out there tin foil crazy train. Ready? Choo choo!!!

We are all so invested in who Hale is that we overlooked something major: who she is becoming. I theorize that she began as a host when Dolores woke her up. I’m not sure who, but that doesn’t matter. What’s important is that every time she plays that buzzing noise on her phone,she is downloading another piece of Hale…the real Hale…into her body. I’m not sure if she does this because she wants to experience love and be more “human” or because she needs more info and memories from Charlotte to bring her closer to Serac. That is why she is carving things into herself more and more like Daddy Delos did.

I’d like to believe that Hale is on a noble journey of new-self discovery, and that each time she watches the video she is curious or moved that a predator could also love so deeply. She is melding Hale’s real life memories and feelings into her host core (whoever it may we) and turning herself into a human host hybrid bit by bit.
