Arnold/Kill Command

Hey guys,

Season long listener – first time writer. I have two Westworld pods that I listen to religiously and neither of you caught something I thought was fairly obvious this week…

When Bernard is following Theresa into the basement of the cabin, he explains to her that it is one of many remote diagnostic labs around the park that “Ford and his partner” used when the park was in Beta. I believe he also mentions that he had no idea it existed (evidenced by the fact that he couldn’t see the door). If you look closely, you’ll notice that that room is not only where Ford takes Young Robert but also where we see “Bernard” tell Dolores about the maze/interrogate her in several scenes throughout the season.

If the Bernard we know has no idea where these rooms are/thinks they’ve been out of use for years, he can’t be the same person in those scenes with Dolores. Coupled with the consistent costume change and this is some pretty strong evidence for the “Bernard is modeled after Arnold” theory.

Also just wanted to touch on the “kill command” that I think Gene touched on. Minor point as Ford is probably the only one who can use it but you suggested that the trigger is “our guest is getting weary.” After Ford says that, though, he continues with, “Why don’t you help her?” In his previous conversation with Young Robert, the host says that Arnold told him that he could “HELP” the greyhound by killing it so that it never hurt anything again… I think this is more than just a coincidence but thoughts?

Thanks for reading,

Nick
