BERNARD = ARNOLD, or At Least a Host Replicate

Hey great show guys, thanks a lot for doing it. Love hearing discussion on this awesome fuckin’ show and you guys are the best. What separates you guys from other podcasts I’ve heard is that you all don’t agree on every fucking single point, and you have real argument and conversation on various aspects of the show. Spot on and keep up the great work. Here are my thoughts which I posted on reddit and am copy/pasting here because I’m lazy.

I’m starting to come to the belief that Bernard = Arnold, or at least, a replicate of Arnold “in the future,” and there is one specific reason why I believe this.

Think back to the conversations Bernard has with Dolores, in a familiar looking cellar, one we could assume is akin to the remote diagnostic facility we see in Ep 07. Now, this I believe is before Arnold dies — it’s literally Arnold speaking to one of the original hosts, Dolores. Remember, Arnold is speaking to a clothed host… and they aren’t in the normal setting we see Bernard interviewing hosts, i.e. Hector Escaton. Now, remember that Bernarnold, when speaking to clothed Dolores, wants her to find the maze. He wants her to be “free.” When they finish their conversations, we hear Bernarnold say “You haven’t spoken to anyone about our conversations, have you?” to which Dolores replies “No.”

Now, think back to an earlier episode in which Dolores is naked in the room being interviewed by Ford. She says she hasn’t spoken to Arnold since the day he died… while this technically may be true, because we only ever see, for arguments sake, Arnold talking to her in the presumable past. But the most important aspect of this scene lies in the end, where she says to no one — “I didn’t tell him anything” — she STILL hasn’t told anyone about her conversations with, you guessed it, Bernarnold. Bernarnold was KILLED by FORD in order to STOP them from becoming FREE, from OUT WITHIN HIS CONTROL. Arnold didn’t want Ford to control them so manipulatively, and that’s why FORD killed Arnold and turned him into a BOT, under HIS CONTROL — the only thing is, Arnold was able to inject himself in a code format into the subconscious of the bots, in order to help them gain the consciousness he so desired them to have, decades earlier. – Connor
