Bodies

Hey Guys,

Why do you think there’s never any dissonance when hosts are placed in new bodies? I feel like so much of our identities are wound up in the physical makeup of our bodies in terms of how we perceive ourselves, and vis a vis others, saying nothing of our “programming.” I know hosts can just be adjusted willy-nilly, but I just think there would be major issues with just throwing a new consciousness in a different body. It goes beyond giving them a storyline and it’s not like Lee had hours to write a new narrative.

To me it’s similar to why you can’t just transfuse blood or body parts to whomever – you need a compatible match for it to “take.”

Maybe I’m just reading too much into it, but, for example, if my consciousness was transferred into another body it would be extremely discombobulating and jarring. Delores doesn’t seem phased at all (from what we saw). Neither does whoever Delores transferred into Hale.

The show “Altered Carbon” has similar ideas, but people are at least disturbed by their new bodies.

Also, how much time does it take to make a new host? And how many times does Hale return to the park? Will we see a Host Theresa?!
