Clegane Bowl

Hey guys,

Thanks for all that you do. You, and especially the listener’s feedback, create a much more enriching GOT experience for me. I hope for once to be on The Small Council but for the good of the realm, if there are better, more deserving writer feedback, a bow to your eternal wisdom.

I wanted to talk about Cleganebowl. I thought it was perfect. I know Big D likes to complain about “oh how convenient” it is for things to play out a certain way because it can make you remember “Oh yeah, this is a TV show” but this was the “epic cinematography on steroids” scene these two giants, and we, needed and deserved, while also having so many great touches and callbacks along the way.

* Firstly, The Hound showing his love for Arya by giving her life-saving advice and we get to have a great moment with Arya thanking him (awww).

* The moment The Mountain leaves Cersei’s side, Varys’ words of how power is an illusion comes to life as “the swordsman” has stopped “pretending” that Cersei holds any power

* How about the poetic end to Qyburn, killed by his own Frankenstein? When that happened I literally said “Qyburn snapped like a potato chip” (there Big D, there’s your realistic, throw-away death)

* Cersei tiptoeing down the staircase by The Hound was oddly funny

* Getting to see The Mountain’s face was very cool. Did anyone else think of Darth Vader at this moment (probably everybody). I’m glad we finally got to see what he looks like.

* We get a call-back to The Mountain’s skull-crushing finale against the Red Viper. Everyone I was watching with was saying “No! No! Nooooo!” when he thumbed those eye sockets

* And of course, The Hound using his greatest fear of fire to defeat his brother (probably the only way at this point) who was his reason for fearing fire in the first place.

Thanks again guys. I’m sad that we only have one episode left and I’m sad that we’ll only have one more week of these podcasts.
