Could “Jon” Kill Daenerys But It”s Actually Arya?

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Hi, guys,

I know this is past the deadline for tonight”s Small Council recording, but I thought I would share my tinfoil theory just in case it happens. I would love to hear you say – this was ridiculous, but one listener saw it coming!

We talked about the reveal of “Jamie” stabbing Cersei only to find out it was Arya. But that didn’t happen.

We still have an episode for such a twist. “Jon” kills Daenerys, but then takes off his face to reveal it”s Arya.

Wait, no! Arya would never kill her favorite brother!

First, we all know that they are actually cousins. So even if they were raised as brother and sister, Jon is a Targaryen. Still, family is important to the Starks. Arya reminds Jon of this during their reunion in the Godswood.

Could her “don’t forget that” actually be a warning? If Daenerys is willing to torch thousands of innocents out of hurt, revenge, etc., why wouldn’t Arya be willing to kill her cousin?

Arya may also be feeling betrayed in that he allowed this massacre to happen. She doesn’t know that he tried to stop the northerners after the Lannister”s army surrenders. We tend to be angrier at those who should “know better” than the stranger we distrusted in the first place.

Daenerys is smart, so as an assassin, Arya knows there are only a few people who could get that close to her. And did you see the resemblance as Jon and Arya talked face-to-face? It would be an easy disguise after she got over the whole killing part. Still, I think Arya would do it, if she thought it was the only way to stop the seemingly mad Dragon Queen.

However, Dany could make it easier for Arya by having Jon executed for his hesitancy in battle, betrayal of the secret, etc. We would be surprised that he once again rose from the dead, but magic is still alive in this world. And then you would have the big reveal.

What do you guys think?

I know it”s far-fetched. But in the off chance, I’m right, I wanted to share it with you all.

Thanks for all you do! My husband and I love listening to your podcasts and enjoy discussing them.

Best,

Marjorie F
