Dolores Holding Liam Responsible

Shatsters,

There is one small plot point that I don’t get.

Dolores tells Liam on the subway that she knows that he himself wouldn’t hurt her, but that he would hire someone to do it. This suggests that Liam arranged to have Dolores (whom Liam knew as Lara) killed.

But that is not what happened.

The real Connells tried to kill Dolores, in the sequence that led to the introduction of robo-Connells and ultimately to Dolores’s encounter with Caleb. But that attack on Dolores was done entirely on Connells’s own initiative; it had not been ordered or requested by Liam.

We later see Dolores-Connells talking to Dolores-Prime about Liam’s reaction to Lara’s supposed death; and then we see robo-Connells telling Liam about the aftermath of a supposed clean-up of the problem of Liam’s latest girlfriend, as a ruse to obtain Liam’s hash key.

So it’s not clear to me why Dolores would hold Liam responsible for trying to kill her, when Liam had not been behind the attack on her.

But Liam did know that Connells was going to have her killed, so he was pretty guilty still.
