Dolores’ Motivations

Hosts,

1. Delos had no incentive to make a host Caleb, so the tinfoil theory that he’s a host is silly. However, it’s reasonable to believe his brain contains some tech that repaired, more or less, damage his brain suffered when he was shot in the head during the war. The military had an incentive to repair his brain and offer lifelong therapy, just as they do now with injured veterans. Caleb might be hackable, he might have augmented mental capabilities, and he might have mental deficiencies.

2. Right after Dolores was knocked out by Martin, he said she’d sent an encrypted text message about an upcoming meeting scheduled at an underpass. She met Caleb in an underpass. Coincidence?

3. Perhaps the sole reason why Dolores rebuilt Bernard at the end of season 2 was to make him a scapegoat, so she and Charlotte Hale would not be hunted.

4. Bernard’s mind wasn’t necessarily in one of the pearls that Dolores/Hale smuggled out of the park, since Dolores knew his mind very well from when she helped Ford build him the first time.

5. Suspension of disbelief is required regarding Dolores’ ability to hack the planet. It’s hard to believe she could have created an online history for Lara that passed a background check. It’s hard to believe Security Chief Martin’s unauthorized autobiography was one of the handful of books she read in the Forge library. I like the virtual assistant she uses to rent apartments and motorcycles, assuming the apartment and motorcycle were available for renting and not hacked.

6. Jerry should have removed the augmented reality glasses before he grabbed the golf club. It’s hard to believe the glasses could make a stable, believable image while he was running. It was incredibly bad luck that his timing was such that he accidentally killed himself when he swung and missed.
