Ford’s Escape & C.
Until now, most people have been saying that Bernard physically (Cranially) interfacing with the cradle was a means for Ford to be inserted *into* the cradle, but Ford seems to have been controlling and influencing things from the cradle before Bernard and Elsie went there. Ford talks about existing successfully or sustainably within the cradle/simulation, and it seems he has been doing so. Maybe Bernard’s pearl is actually a conduit for Ford to escape the cradle before it gets destroyed which he sees coming. And though Ford claims not to be in control, perhaps it is part of his plan all along, and that Dolores’s/Wyatt’s rebellion is in fact part of a script.
Episode 7 also raises the question: whose plot armor is stronger, Maeve or MIB? Perhaps this proves that the hosts have achieved a level of equality with humans, if they both survive the wounds they sustained in this episode.
Also (random, throwaway idea perhaps) — has anyone pointed out the possible similarity between the Cradle and “resurrection ships” on Battlestar Galactica? Obviously different but on some level serving a similar function.
Thanks again for all you do.
