Game Of Thrones Theories

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Hi guys,

Just started listening to you a couple of weeks and enjoy the shows. I haven’t yet listened to this weeks deep dive, so apologies if you already went down some of these rabbit holes.

I have a theory about Tyrion (a Theorion?) and his complete fireside chat with Bran that wasn’t shown. After this talk, he seems quite optimistic about surviving, and does a fine job of recalling everybody’s past experiences. Could Tyrion have become the new three-eyed raven during this talk in the interest of humanity surviving? Is Bran able to transfer this power? He knows the Night King is coming for him, but the Night King is unaware of Tyrion. Perhaps Bran and Tyrion (also known for his big brain and his penchant for “knowing things”) devised a plan that still uses Bran as bait, and have altered this plan (amongst just themselves) as a trap to try and kill the Night King. There was also some foreshadowing when Tyrion said “I expect one of you will be wearing (the Hand lapel) after all of this. Lastly, Dany wasn’t too keen on Jon using “his brother and best friend” as reasoning for knowing his true identity. If Tyrion, her trusted advisor, can now see these events and can co-sign for Jon, would she have to believe him? In this scenario, Bran is now expendable. Will Jorah become the new hand??

Side predictions: Either Jamie OR Brienne will die by a wight or White Walker, and after being zombified, will be ultimately put down by the hand of the other (with tears in their eyes in what will be one of the hardest scenes of the episode). I originally thought Jamie would have to take out Brienne, but Bran’s line of “how do you know there will be an after?” rings in my head. Now I suspect it will be Brienne who has to end wight Jamie. (Tormund now has dibs on the big woman now).

Beric Dondarrion (now without the aid of Thoros) will FINALLY be allowed to die after following through with his reason for continued existence: sacrificing himself to ensure Jon lives.

Agreed that something big will happen in the crypt. Is this the scene where Arya is seen running? Is she fleeing from death itself, e.g. the Night King in a HUGE trap, or is she being pursued by something that was raised in the crypt that she can’t bear to face. It is her family after all…

Lastly, I suspect Jon riding a dragon wasn’t a throw away scene in episode one. He’ll be riding one in the next episode, alongside Aunty Dany.

Thanks for giving me a great show to listen to on my hour drive to work! All the best.

John B.
