Genre
Long time listener, first time writer. I first just want to say how much I love you all (equally)!! Gene, Roger, Big D, The King B, and Ashley – you guys really put a smile on my face every time I listen to your podcasts.
I have some thoughts on the most recent episode “Genre” and wanted to hear your thoughts.
1. Caleb never went to war. The Serac brothers built Rehoboam to save humanity from itself. In the cold open, Serac says that they built a god to “save the world from self-destruction”. This monologue is companied by scenes that depict war. In the next scene, Serac tells the Brazilian president to stop his dealings in order to prevent a revolution or civil war. Based on this we can assume that in the time of Rehoboam, there are no wars. Then, in the Reeducation Center Serac tells Demsey “Rehoboam sends this group to high risk sectors, like war”. It did not look like any of those people were at war. Instead, I believe that the Reeducation Centers are using VR or AR to create a simulation to make it seem as though they are in war. This ties into Caleb’s flashback scene when he is on the operating table with the goggles.
2. Delores staged the meetup with Caleb in Episode 1. When Delores saves Caleb from being shot by jumping in front of the bullets, she zips up her jacket and continues on with her day as if nothing ever happened. In Episodes 1/2 she appears to be on the verge of dying after taking a few shots. These two scenarios do not match up, which must mean that Delores purposefully sought out Caleb and staged the whole interaction with the ambulance to get Liam to “save” her and join forces.
3. Liam’s nails? Did anyone else notice Liam’s nails when he is giving Delores his access code? They are SO long wtf???
4. What’s up with the rockets? In Episode 4, Bernard is walking to his hotel room and two rockets are coming back down to the ground, in the opposite direction that they usually are going. In the last scene as Caleb is getting into the plane behind Delores, there is a rocket in the background that goes into the air and then turns around to come back down. IDK what this means but somethings going on with rockets.
I look forward to hearing from you guys. Keep up the great work!!!

Liam’s nails were so creepy! I am so glad I was not the only one who noticed that.
